Ghostwriter
Ghostwriter is a music and sound collage project led by Mark Brend (musician, novelist, music historian).
Mark started Ghostwriter in 2009, working with a revolving cast of contributors that’s included cult author Colin Wilson, Darren Hayman (Hefner and the French) and Jim Jupp (Ghostbox). Over two previous albums, an EP and multiple one-off tracks, Ghostwriter has combined electric and acoustic instruments, harmony and unison singing, found sounds and archive voice recordings to create music that Stewart Lee, writing in the Sunday Times, said “…evokes an afternoon spent poking around a bookshop in Hay-on-Wye that somehow proved impossible to find the next time you visited.”
Ghostwriter / Tremulant also features:
Suzy Mangion is a music maker, artist and historian from the North of England, who has been making records for over two decades:
"Suzy Mangion's haunting voice hovers and floats through faded-photograph arrangements like an ominous cloud, creating alternating senses of wonder and doom that seem swiped from the celluloid of a Hammer horror film.”

Andrew Rumsey is an Anglican bishop, writer and musician. His 2023 solo album Evensongs gained widespread praise as an unexpected gem of pastoral psych folk:
“Andrew Rumsey has a voice like all your favourite records from the 60’s & 70’s … reminiscent of George Harrison or Tim Hardin …”

Songwriter, singer and musician Michael Weston King is the former leader of Alt Country pioneers The Good Sons, 25 years a solo artist and currently one half of award-winning country soul duo My Darling Clementine:
“Michael Weston King has a voice part Nashville balladeer and part Alt Country hero………a cross between Nick Cave and Rodney Crowell.”
